I went to the VA meetings the past two weekends, and they are ramping up at a pretty high speed.
There are several sub groups to get involved in, but the one I felt drawn to, and thought some of my bros might also be called into, is a Men's program that is being developed.

It's kind of hard to describe, but I would call it a demand reduction effort in the ongoing battle against child pornography and child prostitution. Obviously, men make up the majority of consumers in this market, and if they stop spending money on it, the demand will dry up, and so will the supply. We could never attract an audience if all we invited were the men with sexual addictions, or men who enjoy child prostitutes, so the idea is to present something to ALL men first, and then offer additional support options for those men who are willing to confront their demons and expose them.

The exact form and methods have not been decided, and it's really just a blank slate right now. There were only 3 guys (me being one of them) at the meetings who volunteered to help with this, so anyone with any ideas would be very, very welcome, and anyone who might want to join up with the volunteer planning/development/presentation team would be even more welcome. It could be as simple as doing a little research and providing some material, on up to being a presenter and talking about whatever topics in whatever format we come up with.

At the very least, I would think all of you would have some idea of the type of program you'd be willing to attend if it was offered. 1 hour a week for 2, 3 or 4 weeks? 1 whole saturday? Auditorium style or small groups? 3 days in the wilderness? Put some thought into it, and then step up and write down here.

The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 3rd at 6:30PM at the Starbucks on Power and 202 (By the Target) just in case anyone is interested. Even if you just think maybe you might be interested and you want to see what it's all about, please stop by. We can use all the help we can get!!!!
